The type of personal information we collect

We currently collect and process the following information:

  • Personal identifiers, contacts and characteristics (for example, name and contact details) if you complete a contact form, register for our newsletter or similar. You can easily ‘unsubscribe’ from our emails by clicking the link at the bottom of any email or write to privacy@northernirelandholidays.co.uk to request deletion of your information if, for example, you made an enquiry through one of our forms.
  • Anonymous user information for analytical purposes such as how long you stay on a page, which country you are visiting from, whether you landed on our website via Google Ads, search or from social media. You can control this via our Cookies page.

How we get the personal information and why we have it

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

By filling in a contact form or subscribing to a newsletter

By accepting our cookie notice popup so that applications such as Google and Microsoft Clarity can anonymously track your use of our site. This helps us make improvements, catch errors (eg. broken links) and your data may also be used for remarketing (ie. showing you adverts highlighting our popular/latest stories) via Google ads or Facebook.

Other cookies are used to know how long it has been since your device has visited our site so that it know whether to show pop ups to you again or not.

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:
(a) Your consent. You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting privacy@northernirelandholidays.co.uk
(b) We have a contractual obligation.
(c) We have a legal obligation.
(d) We have a vital interest.
(e) We need it to perform a public task.
(f) We have a legitimate interest.

How we store your personal information

Your information is securely stored.
We keep your personal data (from an enquiry you might make) for the time that the data is in use, for example if we are in communication, and for one year after in the event that you might contact us again.
We will then dispose of your information by deleting it. For newsletter sign ups we will keep your data while you continue to accept email newsletters. If you unsubscribe your data will be deleted automatically.
